Saturday – “3D Shoot” and “Meat Pack” 

  • 7:00 am to 8:00 am - Competitors check-in
  • 8:15 am - Mandatory competitors meeting
  • Opening Ceremony at 8:30 am
  • 9:15 am – The 3D Event starts
  • 10 targets
  • 2 Rounds
  • Competitors must shoot same set up for all shooting events (bow, sight, release, stabilizer)
  • No rangefinders
  • Standard 3D scoring..10-8-5-0 (no 12′s)
  • 12:00 – Break for Lunch
  • 1:00 pm – Mandatory competitors meeting
  • 2:00 pm – The Meat Pack Event starts
  • 5:00 pm – Leader Board Posted/Closing Announcements

Each competitor will receive

  • 1 Spot in the challenge
  • 1 Race T-Shirt

Sunday -”Train To Hunt Challenge Course” 

  • 5 Competitors or 2 Teams per heat
  • All competitors heats and their approximate  start times will be announced in advance and posted at the race site.
  • 1.5 mile course
  • There will be  6 physical challenges and targets to be completed/shot during the race.
  • There will be clear standards on the physical challenges, and designated physical challenge areas to perform them.
  • Competitors will shoot at standard 3D targets throughout the race
  • Range finders are allowed
  • There will be designated shooting stations where competitors will be shooting from. First come first serve basis.
  • If the competitor hit the ten ring on the target:
    • The competitor moves on to the next physical challenge, but does not have to perform the physical penalty before moving on to the next target.
    • Has 30 seconds taken off their total race time.
  • If the competitor hit the eight ring:
    • The competitor moves on to the next physical challenge, but does not have to perform the physical penalty before moving on to the next target.
  • If the competitor hits the target anywhere outside the eight ring:
    • The competitor moves on to the next physical challenge, but does not have to perform the physical penalty before moving on to the next target.
    • Has 30 seconds added on to their total race time.
  • If a competitor misses the target completely, or enough that the arrow doesn’t stick in the target:
    • The competitor must complete the physical PENALTY before moving on to the next target.

Event Rules

  • There will be seven divisions, Open Men, Open Women, Masters Men (40+) , Masters Women (40+) , Men Hunting Teams, Women Hunting Teams, Co-ed Hunting Teams
  • $75 early bird registration / $95 2 weeks prior to the event / $110 on site registration /
  • Competitors must have their competition number written on their bow arm and the fletching of their arrows.
  • Competitors must carry #20-Men/#10-women in a backpack. We will provide the 20# of weight for the pack.
  • Competitors must have their arrows either in a quiver, or in their backpack. They are not allowed to run with arrows in their hand.
  • Competitors must complete each physical challenge before moving on to the following target.
  • Competitors must stay on designated trails
  • Competitors must shoot from an unoccupied designated shooting station
  • Competitors must shoot at every target
  • Competitors must do physical challenges in designated physical challenge areas.
  • Competitors must shoot the same bow, sight, release, and Stabilizer for both days of the competition. ( Exceptions to be decided by Event Coordinator)
  • Competitors can use rangefinders on Saturday for the Challenge Course, but NO RANGE FINDERS for Sundays 3D shoot.
  • In the event of a dry fire during the “Train To Hunt Challenge Course” Event, the competitor will not be allowed to shoot at any more targets, however that competitor will be allowed to complete the course by doing all the physical penalties.

Determining the winner

  • The “3D Shoot” and “Meat Pack” events will be worth 100 points to the winner of each event and decrease by 1 point for every following placer.
  • The “Train To Hunt Challenge Course” event will be worth 200 points to the winner and decrease by 1 point for every following placer.
  • 1st place will receive 100/200 points….2nd place will receive 99/199 points….3rd place, 98/198 points and so on
  • The overall winner will be the competitor with the HIGHEST POINT TOTAL at the end of all three events.
  • Competitors must complete all events ( 3D Shoot/Meat Pack/Train To Hunt Challenge course ) to be eligible for prizes.
  • Top 5 from each class will be invited to the Train To Hunt National Championships held in Denver, Colorado on August 2nd and 3rd.
