Second week back to crossfit after an injury and two years of excuses this smoked me. I did it in 14:24, 30 ohs with PVC because I dont have weights. I did kipping pullups. The rowing killed me I had jello legs before I even started squats. Excellent workout, something to go back to in a month to see improvements.
3 rounds of:
400 meter run, 95 lb. overhead squat, 12 kipping pullups for time of 16:03
(Just for the record, I hate overhead squats).
I think you guys are awesome, I am new to the OHS so I am not even close mastering it yet. Hopefully soon though I think it will be a kick ass workout. Keep up the hard work and keep pushing to the next level. Any tips on the OHS would be appreciated.
for the OHS, i find it helps alot to place your heel on a 5lb weight plate. alot of the CF guys in the videos are wearing special oly weightlifting shoes for the very reason that it elevates the heel. give it a try, and then make sure to push your shoulders up into your ears. will improve your OHS dramatically without compromising the core work. just my $0.02
i just read “the opera” and it was pretty amusing. I am a big fan of CF and I am thankful for what it has done to take GPP and fitness to the public, as well as the community it has created. However, Coach G didn’t write any opera. People have been doing these workouts long before CF. No, not talking about “cross-training” or “circuit training”… I am talking about training across broad time and modal demands with all sorts of exercises. Heck, my high school team was doing AMRAPs and rounds for time back in early 90′s. Coach G didn’t write any opera. What he did do a great job of was packaging it, marketing it, and selling it to a very large audience. For that I applaud him, give him credit, and thank him.
